Chris's birthday yestarday was a great day. It started at 5:30 am with Milo waking up to nurse. He was wide awake after and Chris got up to walk him around until he fell back to sleep. While he was gone I emailed all our friends and family to ask them to send him emails wishing him well today and put his gift on his pillow.
This year we agreed not to buy any gifts for each other, but I got him a travel coffee mug that fits in the cup holder of the car and the Neko Case CD Fox Confessor. You gotta get a little something on your birthday! I also got him some Black Lung candy cigarettes for fun. He came back to bed at 6 am with a sleeping Milo, opened his gifts and then we went back to sleep until 8 am.
All day at work Chris got emails from all kinds of people and it couldn't have made him happier! Thanks to everyone who sent him something, it really made his work day special. He came home for lunch and we made delicous sandwiches with left over steak from the night before and since Milo was sound asleep we had some nice (and much needed!) alone time.
After work we went for dinner to Baumgarts, a local chinese restaurant that we love, with his family. Yummy food, a delicious Haagen-Dazs ice cream cake and two cute kids! Gloria left work in the city early to meet us and Maggie also made it! Milo was smiling and laughing at Jake and couldn't have been cuter! Chris got lots of wonderful gifts; clothes from Old Navy, Action Man gear, a Peace t-shirt, two fun card games called Blink and Five Crowns, and an autographed copy of the Stirling Moss Scrapbook. It was a fun day!
